Poor John Mellencamp!

Yes folks, the guy who wrote "The Authority Song" (I fought authority, authority always wins...) has had his small town life anthem "Pink Houses" usurped by a couple of hacks and we all get a horrible parody complete with bad rhymes and zero humor. In that vein I've re-written the parody to reflect my views. No plans to EVER put it to music. (It's just as bad as theirs...my apologies to John)

Big Fancy Outhouses

There’s some rich folk in their big houses livin in the geist neighborhoods
They got ski’n boats and beemers parked in their yards
You know they thought they had it so good
And there’s a geist woman, who’s heard of a kitchen but it’s just somethin' her maid keeps clean
Her man looks at her and says “Hey honey, quick, go get your boobs, nose and veins done, I tee off at 8:15

And those geist people act so snooty and clean
But see they don’t use the sewers you see

Then their neighbors, up in Fishers
Said “Hey come on and join our town”

“Together we’ll have an easier road to go down”
But they jumped up and down and had fits
Said “We don’t want any part of your slum!”
But they forgot that the things that they like here
Had attracted many others to come
