The gUO - geist Untied Operation, meets for a "Love-In" 2/21/06

Actually, the best part of this little pep rally was hearing the one lone voice questioning the "fairness" of not paying taxes like his neighbors "less than one football field away" do. A brave soul indeed. Mike Kole who attended the meeting tried to say that this guy was some kind of republican party operative there to try and sabotage the Love-In. I have my doubts since 100% of the folks I'm personally acquainted with in the proposed annexation area feelings range from "I'm OK with it" to "BRING IT ON! It's about time!".

I chuckled at all the little sidesteps by the gUO - geist Untied Operation "board" about what will be done about the money if some areas win and some lose. It's likely that some areas will collect the 65% of signatures neccesary and some won't, even though money will have been collected from folks in the losing areas. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. I predict these spoiled children will eventually show their true colors and the group will implode into a disarray of bickering and financial ruin before the end of this process.

I think the "funniest thing" is that no one is reading your comments (ok, I did but you obviously don't have anything of value to add to the debate.)

Here's something to ponder...Fishers moves into and surrounds the Geist area because they have zoning control of the Geist area (they even annex the lake bed...why I wonder?). Fishers continues to spend Fishers residents taxes on this grown toward and around the Geist area. Then at a point when Fishers taxes are higher than the Geist area taxes, the Fishers Town Council tells their residents (who believe them) that it's somehow it's unfair that their residents are paying higher taxes. Regardless of whether we're driving more on your roads or you're driving more on our roads or our kids play with your kids, your town needs us to spend money at your towns businesses....why do you think Fishers moved into the Geist area into the first place? Why was 116th and Olio developed with all the Businesses as it was? Normally you wouldn't think it would be sensible to zone businesses on the edge of town. Ahh, but it's not the edge of town is it?

You might want to spell "United" correctly on your Post named "The gUO - geist Untied Operation, meets for a "Love-In" 2/21/06"

Actually I used the word "untied" intentionally. You can figure out why as the gUO starts to unravel and splinter. Neighborhoods that NEED Fishers services, properties with waivers attached to them and property owners who want to join with the town will cause it to become "untied".

As to your first comment, it isn't about any of the "services" to be supposedly provided. I'm not naive enough to think that Town services alone will justify annexation. The cool thing is, they don't have to. The area is contiguous to a municipality and therefore, can be annexed. No other reasons are neccessary and you can't change that fact so everything else is just a smoke screen.

It is funniest that you make this all about Scott Faultless since he outsmarted you and annexed his geist property into Fishers RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSE. Just another example of geist being oblivious to what's happening around/in it. You blew it and now you're mad...tough.
